    Fish Oddities

We have a fish tank that sits in my boss' office.  I can see it through the plastic window in the cubicle and I have to say that fish are odd creatures.  They are both fancy goldfish which according to the dictionary is a form of Carp.  One is black (Charlie) with long beautiful fins, the other orange (Sam) with a strange head.

Here is the odd thing... Charlie likes to swim to the bottom of the tank, flip upside down and float to the top.  S/he does it several times during the day.  The first time I saw it, I freaked thinking my fish was dead...but just as I got close to the tank to get a better look, s/he flipped over and swam away.  I think this an odd thing for a fish to do.  It appears to be some kind of game s/he plays.  Sometime s/he just flips over and swims around upside down.  Is this normal?

Sam seems to be sane and only chases the bubbles around the top of the bowl and constantly begs for food.  I have not yet observed her/him doing the back stroke in the bowl.  If it starts to happen, I can only assume that it's the water treatment that we use and that they are slowing going insane.

Anyone out there with a backstroking fancy carp?

    It's Been Awhile

It's been so long since I've been in this blog site I had to go through Jen just to get here because I couldn't remember how to do it.

For those who check in periodically (Jeannie)...Thanks.  How's married life treating you?

My boss is on a business trip back east (Whahoooooo) and I'm stuck here dealing with cranky customers.  They can be so needy....

Pet peeve -- when calling someone that you do not know, PLEASE identify yourself and your company before you start asking me for something.  I mean really!!  Next time someone calls and says "I need ______"   I'm just going to say "Okay" and then hang up.  A nice "Hi, this is Bob and I'd like to request a _______" would be really nice for a change.

I've also discovered that I do not speak "man."  I'm hoping to find a course that will teach me how to communicate so that they understand what I am saying.  I've explained to the owner on 4 different occasions that I do not handle sales, I'm A/R and A/P.  I don't set the price, I just bill it out.  Talk to the sales dept if you want the prices changed.  But I can't seem to get him to understand.  He is totally not getting what I'm saying.

    Any ideas?????
